Balding Brothers was founded by three brothers, Nick, Ian & Tim, who came together to create a company that offered both high-quality craftsmanship and high-end service. All entrepreneurial by nature, the three brothers worked hard and brought years of specialized building experience to the business.
Balding Brothers is a full service Design/Build general contracting company serving South Eastern North Carolina. We offer in-house design services for many projects including kitchens and bathroom renovations to full-house remodeling projects and various outdoor living spaces. For custom home construction, we work closely with our area's best architects, engineers, and designers to develop a comprehensive and personalized plan for your specific project.The Balding Brothers team consists of professional and knowledgeable craftsmen.
We have a team of professional and knowledgeable craftsmen who are committed to customer satisfaction and attention to detail. Nick Balding, originally from New Jersey, moved to North Carolina after graduating from Loyola University. He moved to Wilmington after falling in love with the community after a single visit.

We highly recommend Balding Brothers! I first worked with Nick and Catherine in 2013, choosing them after interviewing several companies. Nick did such a great job explaining the process to me in our initial meeting, I knew immediately they were the best choice. They delivered a top notch master bath! Fast forward to 2019 and a new home that needed a kitchen, master bath, new flooring, and new staircase.
We were so excited to work with Balding Brothers again, we sent pictures of the house before we even closed. Nick and Catherine are able to imagine a space for you but have the ability to adapt to your vision too. The design process is always fun and Catherine is full of great ideas. Once the job started we worked closely with John, our project manager, who kept the job humming along beautifully.
The subcontractors were amazing! Professional, timely and true craftsmen. You can also count on Balding Brothers to handle the change orders that are inevitable with any renovation. Nick and Catherine are smart, imaginative, honest, and reliable. Book them while you can!

I have worked with Balding Brothers twice. Four years ago, I hired them for numerous exterior repairs. This summer, I hired them again to renovate my kitchen. When I'm ready for further repairs and renovations, I plan to hire them again. My house is 130 years old, so there will be more. Service: Remodeling

Over the past 8 years we've used The Balding Brothers for four home projects - a master en-suite, a full kitchen remodel, a car-port and then another kitchen upgrade. We would highly recommend Nick and Catherine Balding to anyone! The whole group is extremely professional and very knowledgeable. We always know our house is in safe hands and having a project manager on site everyday solidified that fact. We couldn't be more happy with our decision to use Balding Brothers!

I would highly recommend Balding Brothers for your next home renovation. My family was first impressed with their work after they seamlessly refitted an archway in our historic home to include french doors and windows. When it was time to upgrade and expand our bathroom they answered the call. They were professional, highly skilled in everything we needed from architectural planning, interior design to what fixtures would best suit our renovation.
From start to finish they were there every step of the way to make sure we were happy with the final product. Honest people and solid work. We would definitely use them again.

We would absolutely use Balding Brothers in the future. Our house is so much brighter and more open after our kitchen and den remodel. We have a delightfully functional, beautiful kitchen, which is now my favorite space in our house. From our first meeting with Nick, he stood out amongst other contractors. He was consistently on time, which means he valued our time; an important first step to gaining our trust.
He was professional, honest, trustworthy, and had the knowledge and skills to make our vision work. During our meetings over the next few months, Nick and Catherine never rushed us, always allowing us plenty of time to ask questions or to make changes which would fit in with our functional, creative, and budgetary needs. They have a strong sense of design and were quick to gain an understanding of how we wanted our kitchen and den to appear visually.
They never pushed us, respecting our needs and vision throughout the process. At the start of construction, we began working with John, the project manager. John was also professional, on time, and possessed the construction knowledge necessary to earn our trust. John is a great manager and worked really well with Nick and all the subcontractors. I saw John most days, and in addition, we had a regular meeting once a week to go over any questions and to discuss the plans for the following week.
In fact, at the end of our remodel, I told him I was going to miss talking with him every day! I have to also mention the subcontractors. Every single person who was in our house was courteous and professional and did a fantastic job. They cleaned up every day, and they were respectful to our family. Nick, Catherine, and John were always available to answer our questions and to see to our needs.
They were incredibly considerate, as we decided to stay in our house during construction. I can honestly say this remodel went so well! They stayed within budget and finished within their projected time frame. We are so thankful to Nick, Catherine, John, and everyone at Balding Brothers.

It's always hard trying to find the perfect builder to bring your beach house plans to life, but we knew from having worked with Balding Brothers on two renovation projects before that they would deliver. They delivered and then some! In addition to the top-quality craftsmanship, what we appreciate most about Balding Brothers is their thoughtfulness and communication. Nick thought out each detail as if it were his own house, explained his reasoning to us, offered alternatives, and helped us make the many, many decisions as the project moved along.
Communication was simple - Nick and Catherine were always a phone call, email, or text away. The project was truly a collaborative effort between owner and builder. We cannot recommend Balding Brothers enough!
