Thank you so much for the beautiful work you guys did on my home. I was especially surprised and delighted with the replacement of the island side panel, which was damaged by a worker from another trade. I cannot even tell that it was replaced. Again, thank you for the gorgeous kitchen. It is exactly as I dreamed it would be.

Stay away from this company. I am do disappointed in Chip and Jeff. We remodeled our kitchen 8 years ago and went to this company because we believe strongly in supporting small local businesses. The construction of the cabinets is solid. The issue was with the finish. Within two years, the stain was "peeling" and looking like a 10 year old kitchen used daily by teenagers.

There are two of us in our home, both in our 50's so let's say, our kitchen is used, but with care. I stopped by their office after two years and it already showing bare wood and they gave me two stain pens to touch it up. I should have pushed the issue then, but mistakenly, I didn't. After 7 years, the entire kitchen looked horrible. Outside, inside, edges - all without stain and bare wood showing.

We went to the shop with a door and met with them and they said (and I quote) "I know what the stain company will say, they will say this is water damage, but I don't see any evidence of water damage on this door, there is no sign of water on the bare wood. You would see it if it was water damage." Finally months later, they came to the house with a representative from the stain company.

He was not in the door 2 minutes and said "you have water damage and you are lucky we are even here after 8 years". I tried to explain that the wearing to bare wood was on cabinets 15 feet away from any water an that this started happening after TWO years and they completely ignored me. Water damage? We have never had a leak in our kitchen. We are very careful with how we use our kitchen.

We live in an area that has an average of 20% humidity. Does a kitchen have water in it? Well of course, it's a kitchen! Why would a company use a product or process that cannot hold up to the normal use, wear and tear in a kitchen is the real question. After the visit, I emailed Chip and Jeff and they responded: Dara, I have not had an opportunity to speak with Jeff yet.

We have been both out in the field a lot the last couple weeks. I will get back to you as soon as I can. Regards, Chip Then. I NEVER HEARD FROM THEM AGAIN. I wrote several times. I made several offers to make this right including if you'll paint the cabinets, we'll buy the paint, or to share the cost of fixing them (paint) and we'll have the work done.

I never heard from them again. No call, no email. They just ignored me completely. As a business owner myself, my word and my integrity is the most important thing to me. I am so disappointed in Chip and Jeff as a local business that behaves as they have, provides an inferior product (or in fairness made a mistake), and don't stand behind their work - or make it right. We had the same experience as David Yancey! If it's not for a big job forget it! Took 2 weeks to speak with someone just to come out and take a look at our project, then they just ignored us. Finally after calling we received a quote which was extremely high and there was no breakdown of the estimate just a flat amount which was ridiculously high. It was clear they had no interest in doing our job! Total waste of time!

If it's not a big job ($$) don't waste your time! No returned phone calls and then finally a price that was outrageous with no breakdown! They should have just told us they were not interested and not wasted our time! Too bad because this small job was going to lead into a total kitchen gut and remodel.

We used Cook Custom Cabinetry for 3 bathroom remodel projects, and we are so pleased with the results. Jeff Radtke completed the install and the cabinetry looks beautiful! Additionally, Jeff took care of a kitchen cabinet issue we had while he was completing the bathroom installations.and the results exceeded expectations. Jeff completes his work with the skill and precision of an experienced professional. He is always respectful in interacting with his clients. I highly recommend Cook Custom Cabinetry!

I called and scheduled an appointment to discuss a custom sewing cabinet and shelving for my sewing room. This project was the preview for a compete kitchen gut and remodel. Jeff showed up on time, took notes and measurements, seemed genuinely interested in my project, gave me his card and email. He promised a bid. I never heard from him. I emailed and called and spoke with the receptionist.

No return call. I can understand him not wanting to build one sewing cabinet, but he should have said something. Business is about making money, I get that. But his unprofessional manner cost him a big kitchen job as well.

First, they do great work - when we had a larger job for them to do. However, in our latest attempt, we tried to hire to do a smaller job. It seems that, if you don't have a large job, such as a full kitchen remodel, they will ignore you. The bad thing is that they will promise that someone will contact us to give a quote, but never do. Even after several calls and promised call-backs. They do not have the courtesy to call back even to decline a job. That's totally unacceptable customer relations.

I love my new cabinets! They look amazing! Chip has a great eye for design and understanding what I wanted. The installers were meticulous, friendly and professional, and cleaned up! I didn't shop around for bids because I was adding additional cabinets and I wanted to match the original cabinets (which were done by them also). Chip suggested a few changes and I'm so glad he did!

I was having carpet installed so the timing of the cabinet install was important and they met that deadline, which was awesome all in itself because I know they were super busy with other projects. I would definitely recommend them! UPDATE: I've been procrastinating this and I want to keep it as short as possible. The 'original cabinets' that we had to match started cracking (the paint) we went round and round with CCC and they basically said 'too bad'.

I get it, we don't know what the previous owner did or how she cared for them but I know they aren't' very old. maybe 4-5 years now. Tried to tell us we should have used an oil based cleaner on painted cabinets and everyone else I spoke to said that's ridiculous! We also had a door they had to repaint that came back scratched on the edges and another one fell off the hinge and their solve was to just put a bigger screw in it and now it looks crappy.

They quoted us $1900 to replace the old doors but there is still the one door they screwed up and haven't fixed yet and won't respond to us. So now out brand new uppers are cracking! Every time we call them we never get a response, better luck emailing them but now I'm just emailing them so I have a paper trail. Well seee how they handle finding out the new cabinets are cracking! Keep you posted!

Love the kitchen Cook Custom Cabinetry built for us. I designed the kitchen for our new house and shopped it around for bids. Not only were they the most reasonably priced from CCC but we were able to upgrade to cherry cabinets and use the latest under cabinet LED lighting plus all the other bells and whistles I designed in to the job. Chip was awesome to work with and he understood what and why I was designing the kitchen the way I was.

He was extremely helpful in explaining the material, hardware, and lighting options. He also supplied us with multiple stain samples and finished our fireplace mantle to match the kitchen, it's beautiful! Enjoyed working with everybody I came in contact with at CCC. The kitchen had a lot of detail designed in it and Chip picked it all up. The job was built at the beginning of the year and the shop was busy which is usually a good sign.

We had to wait a while for the bid and for the kitchen to be built because they were so busy, but patience is a virtue, and the job was well worth the wait. I'm a retired cabinet maker, owned my own shop, and have higher standards and expectations than your typical customer. I highly recommend giving Chip at Cook Custom Cabinetry a call.

What a waste of time. This place is located in the foothills near Placerville, CA. Called and set an appt. Met with Chip and reviewed my C.A.D. Drawings, door style/type needed and drawer/ glides spec. Was told I would have a proposal the next day via email. One week later, nothing. So I called and was told it would go out the next day.(via email) a week later, nothing. Called again. Was given some lame excuses about being busy.

Even though they hadn't called, emailed or texted about being busy. Was told the proposal would go the next day. Of course it's been several days now and no word, nor return phone call. I think this place went under new ownership in 2007 when the economy tanked. Don't waste your time. Go to Feist Cabinets near Elk Grove. Randy Feist was great with many ideas and very responsive.

Or try JandC Cabinets off Sunrise Blvd in Rancho Cordova. Chris and Melanie were very helpful and responsive. Ultimately I went with them for my $38k order for kitchen and family room cabinets plus install.

Zero stars would be more appropriate. I noticed that they took down their other company profile and now have two profiles by changing the name slightly that had all of the negative comments. Left a message and email and never got a return phone call. The receptionists have absolutely no impact on left messages. Flakiness and blowing off has happened before in the past and don't know why or how they're still in business. Not the same company that it used to be.

Used this company before with good results. Reasonable pricing and nice work. The last time I tried to use them however, they flaked on me and I could never get a return phone call. If they didn't want the job they could have at least shown me a little courtesy. Unprofessional. This could have been a glowing 5 star review.

Cooks has been my cabinet maker for many years. They are perfectionists and artists. Everything they have ever built for me has been both beautiful and of the highest quality.

We had Chip out in December of 2012 to do an estimate on an installation of new kitchen cabinets, two bathroom counters and medicine cabinets plus a hall linen cabinet. We showed up at their showroom and chose the wood, the style of cabinets, etc plus he drew up the design after measuring everything to allow us to see what it would look like and offer changes. we signed up and after the holidays, the work began.

His co-owners came in and put up the cabinets. Worked efficiently and were friendly. We were also putting in new floors so the timing meant that they had to come back to put trim on. The cabinets looked great, and any issue on chips, scratches, etc was repaired or replaced with a smile. The kitchen and original job was done on time, with a little delay on the added job at the end, due to their busy schedule, but that was a minor time delay issue.

We also had them do a rolling table recently which was completed in a timely manner, and looks great. Chip made some practical suggestions on the setup of the cabinets to make it work in the day to day use, the prices were very reasonable, and I would use them again. There was a slight miscommunication or lack of communication that occurred at times with the leaving of a message at the front desk and the receiving of that message by the intended recipient.
