Expensive, but thank god for this place. Its the only store I have found that sells good hardwood in the area. I don't buy anything else there though.

Very disappointed. Looking for new vanity, no one asked if they could help and not many reasonably priced. Home Depot had better selection.

Thought I go get breakfast at a restaurant in the same parking lot and get some supplies for my home renovation project. However the restaurant owners were on vacation leaving me with a 15 minute waiting time before Curtis lumber opened at 7am. Curtis lumber has been in existence for over 100 years and is headquartered in Ballston Spa near where I live.

They have over 23 locations in upstate NY. They carriy a selection of plywood, treated lumber, dimension lumber, hardwood and engineered lumber. To make things simpler its just a lowes or home depot that is locally owned and smaller in size. Buy and shop local

We tried for the second time to give our business to Curtis Lumber. Few years ago we tried to do our bathroom with them, the lack of response was depressing. We though it was due to the pandemic, and now we just tied again to do our kitchen. We sent all the homework back within 2 days we received the paperwork with professional pictures, and the waiting time to ONLY meet the designer for the first consultation was TOO long.

We met several designers in the meantime, and hired one of them. We just cancelled our meeting for the 1st consultation, we were scared of the rest of the process, if the first appointment took that long. I believe they don't need business for kitchen and bathroom, unless you are a builder.

Great selection of hardwoods and exotic woods. Prices range and some prices are decent and other things are overpriced. They have a small selection of exotic turning blanks, but they are overpriced. They also have a great selection of pine and construction lumber. They also have a small hardware store inside with hardware, paints, brushes, finished, etc. Parking is not hard to find and the staff are friendly.

Expensive. Bought a wood splitting Maul. Only had two in stock, went with the heavier one. Cashier was friendly. They do have good closeout deals on things once in a while. Worth checking.

Overpriced, and didn't complete the order. They also broke one of the cabinets and took forever replacing it. Customer service was also poor, there representative refused to return calls. Would not recommend.

We bought most of our products from Curtis, when we did the remodel of an older home we bought. The service, and quality is second to none, and the employees are awesome to work with. Paige In home decor, and Mark Teressi, are spot on. Thank you all for such a wonderful experience!

First visit to the kitchen design center. We are off to a great start with Bob, our designer. They have so many cabinet options. I'll keep updating as we make progress.

If I could give 0 stars I would, the customer service is this store is TERRIBLE. I asked questions without answers, I asked someone if there was someone to cut my wood they simply said "yep" and offered no other information. Jus all around terrible and rude and unhelpful. Go somewhere else.

Curtis service during the covid outbreak is abysmal. You call during business hours to place an order, wait 10 rings for an operator to pick up and transfer you to a specific department, where it rings 6 times and then goes to an answering machine. I would chalk it up to a fluke, but this is now the third time I've experienced a complete lack of customer service during the pandemic. It's a pattern. They simply don't care about earning your business.

This is a great local business! All the employees are friendly and helpful. Patience is the key here! If you have time to go through all the options and ask all the questions you will not be disappointed. Prices are better on nails, screws, fasteners than at Lowes.

The place is a absolute JOKE. We are thinking about redoing our bathroom and saw a tile that we liked. We called the store multiple times to inquire about the price after thinking it over. We left multiple messages and NO ONE returned our call. We had to ask for the manager of the store which could not do anything and just passed us to our "designer". We are very disappointed the way the store operates that I am surprised the door actually opens for the customer to walk through. AVOID THIS STORE!

Your customer service was non existent! Not one employee acknowledged us, not even a hello. My husband and I stopped in to look at your bathroom remodel section. We were there for a half hour. Not one employee spoke to us! I don't even want to give you one star! No worries cs, we will take our $$ to someone who wants our business.

Sat down and had an estimate made for replacing some decking. Was told by Bill that it would be 5 minutes.20 minutes later finally sat down to give dimensions. Figured after the dimensions were in there would be a couple of clicks and I would know how much decking I needed to buy! NOPE! Wouldn't know until the following week! Called on Tuesday and Bill said he would get to it today. Called again at the end of the day and nothing. "First thing Wednesday morning!" I was told.

Here it is Wednesday afternoon and nothing. Now Bill isn't taking my calls! One star only because 0 isn't an option. Hate to do it but heading to Lowe's if I don't hear anything soon!

Do yourself a favor and shop around if you are doing a kitchen. The quality of the materials is not in question, but the customer support is absolutely appalling. I have no idea how they stay in business if they treat all their customers like garbage, but I guess as long as they get one sale out of you that's fine with their management. Still haven't resolved issues over one year after the order was placed. Cabinets did not fit, were not ordered correctly, arrived damaged. Assured it would all be taken care of, and guess what they lied!

Multiple calls, emails give me zero response. After dropping way too much money on a nice kitchen setup you would think they would treat you well, but it's just not the case. They don't care and it shows.

I try to avoid at all cost the big box stores -- the customer service is unparalleled in this area. I have no idea when is comes to purchasing building supplies but it seems like I am always in need for my home -- my latest was buying a new bathroom -- I am very grateful for the help I revived in placing my order Love this store!

Always a great stop for any tools or materials I need. Great selection of unique woods, which is important for what I do. Prices are fair, and supporting local business is always important.

Went today for a bathroom remodel. One person working that department. Walked around looking for tile and lighting. Impossible to find staff for help. Went back to bathroom section about 10 minutes later to see if they were free. No such luck. Never said a word to us. No interest in going there again.

We come here every year to get our Christmas Tree! They always have a great selection and the service is great! We will be back again next year! They have an old fashioned honor roll system if no attendant is around put your money in the box and pack up your tree!

Curtis Lumber gives me wood.literally and figuratively. Curtis Lumber is a woodworker's wet dream come (zing?) true. I've spent more money on exotic hardwood than I care to admit. I'm not even talking about Brazilian hookers. Thanks to CL, I've built three guitars and have wood to complete 2 more **shakes fist at Goog Cal for manifesting my lack of luthiery time at this point in my life**.

Every type of wood they stock is the best grade available that I have seen to date, beating out Rockler, other exotic hardwood dealers, and many internet retailers. Just a list of some of the woods I've purchased here: purpleheart, wenge, padauk, spalted maple, rosewood, zebrawood, mahogany, flamed maple, cocobolo, lacewood, bloodwood, ebony, and a many others.

Every board I have hand selected out of the massive stacks of worthy wood. The employees encourage you to move the piles of wood around to find the perfect piece. I had one guy help me move hundreds of boardfeet of cocobolo just to get to a piece on the bottom. Hellllloooooo cocobolo fingerboard **salivates**. They have a rule about cutting off only the ends of a board, so if you want a piece in the middle, you need to buy a bit more, but often times they will just cut out the middle section anyways if you ask nicely. Yeah, they have tools.

But you'd be a tool to pay some of the prices they are asking. Most of the items are fairly priced and I've picked up countless clamps, Titebond, etc, but some of the power and specialty tools are cheaper elsewhere. They do at least have a great selection of router bits. To this day, I cannot get over the fact that a town called "Ballston Spa" even exists. tl;dr: omg, wood.

I know of no other place anywhere that you can buy quarter sawn oak by the linear foot. Oak has some very interesting grain characteristics. If you have ever seen Stickley furniture mission style you know what quarter sawn ork looks like. To produce quartered stock think of the tree like the circle of a pie. First you cut the log into quarters making 4 triangle parts.

If you divide the quartered pieces down the center and cut from there the rich tiger grain hidden in the wood comes out. There is huge waste to making stock this way. When Oak trees were everywhere at the turn of the century it was common practice to use it everywhere in a house. These days you just dont see it because you can't get it anywhere unless you have it milled yourself. or you can go to Curtis. Plus they have a huge array of solar panels on the roof. Go Curtis!

Curtis Lumber gets a HUGE 5 star rating from me. I have called over the US looking for a snow roof rake. As soon as I called Paul understood what I wanted and made sure I could get one by this weekend. Amazing customer service, friendly people who just want to help.

I always like to support local businesses, and so when we bought my first house I was pretty psyched about having this right near by. They have great service, clearance items (I got a $175 custom order front door lock for $15!), tools (And a damn good selection), lighting, raw wood, decking, doors and windows, plumbing and electrical. Even work clothes.

Out back at the contractor location you can buy insulation, and roofing and all other building supplies. The folks are always nice, knowledgeable and conversational. Ready to help even if they are in the middle of something (Not like the average big box home stores.) You can't miss the big sign!
