Dave and Renee Strauss of Direct Kitchen and Bath were both born and raised in the Fullerton section of Whitehall. The two knew each other since second grade and married while attending Kutztown University. In construction all his life, Dave started working summers and after school at his father's construction company at the age of 13.
Since 1982, Direct Kitchen and Bath has been a family owned and operated business right here in Whitehall, PA. The keyword there is family. Our roots in the community run deep and we go above and beyond to treat our clients like members of our own family. We're called Direct Kitchen and Bath, but we're ready to tackle any space in your home, from kitchen or bath to home office or basement.
Your kitchen cabinets do a lot of hard work, from keeping your dishes and cutlery clean and organized to the catch-all drawer full of screwdrivers and thumb tacks. But that's not all. Your cabinets are the biggest and most prominent part of your kitchen - so shouldn't they look great, too? For many years, cabinet designs were utilitarian.

COMPLETE KITCHEN REMODEL / RENOVATION! Early this year we decided to renovate our 24 year old kitchen, and after our first meeting with Steve Strauss of Direct Kitchen Distributor, we quickly decided to hire him for the job! He has a beautiful showroom, and we acquired many ideas from it. He spent quite some time consulting with us to help him understand what we were looking for, including budgeting.
Our kitchen project was a very large one, as the room itself is big and knew we were going to totally gut it! We also decided to rearrange the layout differently from the original, which complicated the project even more. Steve came up with multiple plans, and as we worked through each, he made changes as we asked him to. He was available whenever we needed to meet, either at our home or at his showroom.
He is very skilled in designing and composing computerized layouts, and that made it quite easy for us to understand how they would look in our kitchen. Steve provided recommendations for the electrical work, plumbing, countertops, backsplash, flooring, lighting and appliances, and he coordinated the work for each. For our cabinets we went with the "Showplace EVO" which is Steve's Custom Cabinets brand.
We chose stained & glazed Cherry Wood, with ebony trim, and it is absolutely gorgeous! Also, Steve is a distributor for "The Galley Sink", which comes in different lengths, and he has it installed in his showroom. After giving it a lot of thought, we decided to go for it and WOW are we glad we did! It's amazing and we would highly recommend it. You can't go wrong with a Galley Sink, and you'll be glad you did! "Bryan" is Steve's installer and we cannot rave enough about him! Steve designed the kitchen, and Bryan made it come to life!
His skill and workmanship is absolutely top notch! He is such a nice man and always took time to answer any and all of our questions. When Bryan finished each day he would clean up the room before leaving. It was a pleasure working with both Steve and Bryan! If you are planning a new project, and want the best, you can't go wrong with Steve Strauss from Direct Kitchen Distributors! Happy New Year 2022 to Steve and his entire team!

The overall experience from meeting with Steve to discuss the work through the whole process of the work being completed was awesome. I had new kitchen counters with tile back splash and vinyl flooring laid throughout the first floor turned out to be excellent. It looks like a new house. I can't say enough about how pleased we are. The attention to detail was awesome. GREAT JOB! Definitely recommend DKD for kitchen, flooring and bathrooms.

Working with the DKD team has been a great and easy experience. From setting up initial meetings with Steve, working through options and coming to final design. To working with Bob (contractor) who organized all the different aspects of the job from electrician to plumbing. Very impressed with overall attention to detail and doing the job right in my old house. All individuals who entered my home were courteous and professional. We are extremely pleased with our beautiful new bathroom!

DKD has done three remodeling jobs for me. A master bathroom and two kitchens. From the initial design work through the actual remodel and finish work the staff did an excellent job. Steve gives great advice about design ideas and options. Each job ended up being within my initial budget. Their showroom has many choices and great displays.

I ordered a Galley kitchen sink thru this vendor and although they ensured that I would get a call once delivery was scheduled, I get an email the day before it was to arrive that it's on it's way. Of course it was the day before I'm leaving for vacation and their response was that they couldn't really do anything but get me the FedEx tracking number and their 800 number and it was basically my problem.
I called FedEx and placed it on vacation hold. When I came back, I saw that it was delivered to the house. When I got there, no sink. When I tracked it, they told me the shipper sent it to the wrong address. My shipping directions had my correct address. But I told them if the delivery company was using Google Maps, my house is too new and doesn't come up but if they put in my neighbor's address it will show up so they go to the right location.
Not knowing they're shipping via FedEx. These guys put my neighbor's address and totally disregarded my true shipping address! When one buys a $3K sink, one expects better service. My warning is if you're prepared to deal with amateurs-go ahead and hire them. Best of luck!
