Since stone surfaces are quite porous, they will absorb liquids which may results in discoloring and staining. Our granite and marble countertops are sealed during fabrication and/or installation. This substance penetrates the stone clogging most of its pores making it quite impervious to alcohol, juices, soft drinks, cosmetics, cleaners, coffee food and oils.

So very pleased with this company and their workmanship. We had to replace a sink which had been mounted under granite, and I was very concerned that it could end up with damage to the countertops, it was a very difficult job! I had a chip in a granite countertop repaired by Down East Fabrication. The repair, for which I was charged $200.00 and took 5 minutes, looked great but did not hold up. It fell out after a few months. Down East again repaired the chip, and the repair turned yellow and fell out. Repairs are done with epoxy. Denise told me that Down East would again repair the chip at no cost. However, she then informed me that Lisa, the Sales Manager, advised her repairs are not guaranteed and they would again have to charge me $200. Down East would NOT honor their employee's word. Buyer beware!

Down east helped us with a very complicated countertop situation and we are so thankful for them. They are so professional, their customer service has been wonderful, our counters are lovely, and they were down right kind through the entire process. We are lifers for anything counter top related. Don't hesitate to have Down East Fabrication install your new countertop. With no exception, everyone we encountered there was a pleasant person with whom to deal. They were pleasant, professional, knowledgeable, and took pride in their work; the result is an outstanding product. We had a bit of a glitch in our installation. Glitches happen; what makes Down East stand out is that they were were quick to propose a satisfactory solution, and then to solve the problem. Pleasant, skilled, problem solving professionals. Easy process, excellent customer experience. Although my granite job was very small-a powder bath vanity top, I was not treated like a small job. I had pre-picked a color online, but they suggested I come out to see it in person. Glad I did! I found an even better choice and it was even less! I chose from their extensive selection of remnants. Their showroom has so many beautiful granite options, as well as other natural and solid surface options.
They were responsive professional and the installation was perfect! It took 5 weeks for the template, another week for fabrication/installation. I would highly recommend Downeast!

Such a great experience overall. We upgraded our kitchen with granite counter tops, a farmhouse sink, and subway tile back splash. Everyone at Down East was friendly, professional, and you could tell they really cared about their clients. The whole process went very smooth. We absolutely love our new kitchen! I would highly recommend Down East to anyone looking for counter tops.

Down East staff and products are amazing. The sales staff helped with all my questions and even gave me samples to bring home, which made me choose a different color. The installers were great, efficient and strong carrying that big piece of granite in the house. I highly recommend them if you're looking to improve your living space! As a first time home builder, the amount of choices can be overwhelming. Stephanie Harrison was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful in helping us select the countertop options that were best for us and made this process painless and enjoyable! I would recommend Down East Fabrication to anyone in the market to upgrade or purchase new countertops.

My Dream kitchen is complete thanks to Down East! The whole process from start to finish was wonderful. We have had our granite installed for about 1 year now. It still brings a smile to my face every time I walk in the room. The granite is stunning! It was measured and cut to be a perfect fit in our kitchen, then installed quickly by professional installers. I wouldn't hesitate to use Down East again for future projects.
