After completing a union apprenticeship in finish cabinetry in 1974, working under a number of Bemidji's finest cabinetmakers and attending the Bemidji State University Industrial Arts Department woodworking classes, Chris Keenan became self-employed. Keenan's Cabinets of Distinction has been at its present location, 1008 Paul Bunyan Drive SE since 1978.
