Kitchen Village

Truly it was a pleasure working with Kitchen Village and Dorothy Zalewski, our decorator, who helped us with the process to remodel our kitchen and master bathroom. There were challenges as this project was undertaken during the Covid pandemic. Dorothy did her very best to make sure items arrived when they were expected which was greatly appreciated!

We found Dorothy to be very professional, flexible, and courteous. This was our first experience working with a decorator, and Dorothy has made this experience very pleasurable. While not always agreeing with our choices of materials, Dorothy conceded that they worked and never "pressured" us to always go with items she might have preferred. Any remodeling job can be stressful, but Dorothy helped to smooth things over to the best of her ability! Jim, Dorothy and all of the amazing contractors at Kitchen Village hit it out of the park when working with us on our master-bath remodel! From design services to estimates on schedule and how long each step would take, they rarely missed a beat. We signed in August and they demolished November 29. Nineteen business days later - the day before Christmas Eve - they moved out and we had everything but our shower back.

A beautiful Christmas gift! Having never done anything like this before, we had no idea how much it might cost. What we learned is that you get what you pay for: Each of those 19 days, the Kitchen Village contractors would be here by 8 a.m. and by 5 p.m. were gone and almost every sign that they had been here they had taken with them. Their handiwork was amazing and beautiful but their cleanliness and the way they picked up each night was incomparable.

They simply could not have cleaned up better daily and made our house as livable as possible than they did. If you want the best in design, workmanship, sticking to an incredibly tight schedule (Dorothy is a task-mistress when it comes to getting everybody in and out each day - we never had a day when somebody was not there doing something!), and a stunning final result, Kitchen Village is team to select! In 2008 Jim designed our kitchen cabinet layout and everything fit and looked perfect. When designing a matching cabinet for the adjoining laundry room he noticed that the architect's plan had the washer/dryer configuration backwards for front loading machines. Very thankful for that as unloading washed clothes to the dryer would be awkward. Consistently over the years he has responded quickly to any questions. Always very helpful and pleasant to work with. He is very passionate about his work and customer satisfaction. Obviously we highly recommend Village Kitchen.

We worked with Kitchen Village and their designer, Linda Niemczyk, to completely gut and remodel two bathrooms. Linda listened to our input and then designed two bathrooms that completely suit the needs of our family. The Kitchen Village showroom offered many options for fixtures, tile, and flooring and the materials and workmanship they provided were of the highest quality. Linda wasn't just the designer, she supervised the projects from start to finish.

She handled all the permits and deliveries and managed the scheduling and work of the various tradesmen involved on our projects. The tradesmen were very professional and always left the house clean after completing the day's work. We both work full-time and it was a tremendous help to have a project manager on-site so we didn't have to take time away from work. We most appreciated Linda's updates on the schedule and progress of the projects and we experienced very few delays. We highly recommend Kitchen Village and Linda Niemczyk.

We used Kitchen Village for our kitchen remodel. We live in a townhome, our kitchen is small, and our options were limited (really couldn't change the footprint). Linda (our designer/consultant) was knowledgeable, helpful, worked with our budget, and stayed on top of the project every step of the way. Our kitchen looks bigger and brighter and we love it. I would definitely recommend Kitchen Village (and have) or use them again if the need arose.

We have done various home projects on our house over the years and Kitchen Village was the very best company to work with, hands down! They were communicative, timely, and overall professional in every aspect of the word from start to finish. They said six weeks for our project and it was completed in six weeks. Don't even bother! I called asking to get a quote via email due to pandemic. We are finalizing remodel of our three apartment buildings and we knew exactly what we want "shaker style cabinets in white". A man that answered the phone said that "they don't do quotes via email" even thought I explained that I have the layout of cabinets and measurements which is 90% of his work that's done. Pathetic and clearly way behind in what's going on in today's world. I am gladly taking my business elsewhere.

My wife, Michelle, and I have worked with the professionals at Kitchen Village for many years, and we have always found their work to be top notch. Most recently we had our kitchen, which is relatively small, remodeled. We are extremely pleased with the result. Trish helped us with the design, and she made recommendations for layout and materials that incorporated all the features we wanted. Chris was thoroughly attentive to all the small details during the installation process, and that clearly made the final product come out just as we hoped it would.

We met Jim at Kitchen Village after seeing the great kitchen they did for our neighbor. They did our kitchen design (great ideas) and helped us every step of the way (included our powder room too). The ideas kept coming and the choices became easier and easier with the guidance. Our satisfaction has always been first and foremost. We could not be happier!

We are grateful for all of the time and energy that Jim and all of his staff/contractors gave us. With their direction and hand holding we truly have the kitchen of our dreams!

Bill is great at what he does! He has an incredibly creative and classic eye for design, I'm super impressed. It's refreshing to be able to hire someone who can design a bathroom from something you have pictured in your mind. I would definitely recommend Kitchen Village if you want a quality job. Book early though because they stay pretty busy. Showroom is cool too!

Used kitchen Village for a complete new kitchen and we are completely pleased with the results. Our design consultant was very attentive to our needs. The carpenters were complete craftsmen. The tile, floor and plumbing contractors were top notch also. Definitely a positive experience. The company owner was personally involved to help iron out a delivery problem. An excellent service oriented company that we recommend highly.

Had a similar experience to Yvette H. Found this place in the "Best Picks" book mailed to my home annually. Called them up, was told they don't service my area. Wondering why they were a "best pick" in a book that was specifically mailed to my suburb if they don't in fact service my suburb, I called the Best Picks book directly to ask this very question. Was told by Best Picks that if I received their book, every company in that book has assured Best Picks that they will service the area(s) the books are sent out to.

Best Picks called Kitchen Village to (I assume) ream them out -- and then even called me back to inform me that they did so and thank me for contacting them. Ultimately, I had another kitchen and bath firm come out -- from a *708* area nonetheless (apparently, I wasn't too far away for them). After almost two hours of meeting with the owner of this company about my needs, vision, etc., I was ultimately given a quote for just over $44,000 for two full bathroom updates and one partial bathroom update.

I will be going with this firm, as I was happy with the price and happy with the attention the owner paid to making sure I was going to be happy with the choices I'd be making regarding all of the various options (showers, vanities, etc.) Bottom line: If Kitchen Village can cherry pick their jobs while taking advantage of the effectively free advertising they're getting from Best Picks, I'd stick with a firm that will welcome your business without regards to if you're in suburbs they like to work in or not.

I called on a Friday and didn't hear back until Tuesday. Not a big deal, however I was told that they did not come to Chicago for jobs. When I initially called I gave my address so you'd think I would've been told right off the bat that they didn't service Chicago. I can't comment on their work, but the person who answered my call should have been more knowledgeable about how far they go out for jobs.

The home I am living in right now is more than 25 years old. The kitchen cabinets and sink were getting pretty rusted and old. So, just last year I got new cabinets and a sink installed from this place. I really like what the cabinets. They installed it really nicely too. The price was pretty reasonable for me as well.
