Since the conception of our Newport Beach Interior Design studio, we have had the good fortune of designing award winning spaces across the country. We founded the studio on 3 basic principles; a product you will love, on a price-point you can attain, in a time frame you can expect. A Year later and we could not be any happier with our beautiful and functional kitchen by SKD Studios. We are so gratefull for all of the hard work by everyone there to make our kitchen perfect!
Born and raised in Corona del Mar, I have been passionate about all things design for as long as I can remember. Not long after getting married, my husband and I moved to the East Coast. We raised two beautiful daughters in a quaint seaport village in Southern Maryland. I am a California Certified Interior Designer and opened my own interior design business in 2002, In 2006 I began focusing on Kitchen and Bathroom remodeling.
SKD Studios is a full service, award-wining, interior design studio specializing in kitchen and bath design. Our team of designers brings over 15 years of experience in all aspects of design. Our designers have tackled every scale and budget and bring a wealth of knowledge, experience, and professionalism.

SKD STUDIOS, situated in the Lusby Commons Shopping center on Rousby Hall Road in Lusby Maryland was founded on three simple principals – “A product you will love, on a budget you can afford, in a time frame you can expect” nissa Swanzy was born and raised in Southern California and moved to Maryland 15 years ago with her husband. Anissa, her husband, Don, and their two daughters, Taylor and Blaine have been enjoying life on the Chesapeake Bay ever since.
Growing up on the coast of Southern California has always been the casual coastal style that inspires her designs. Having owned her own interior design business for four years, she began focusing on kitchen and bath design about three years ago. It was then that she decided to combine her love for interior design with her new found passion for kitchen and bath design and create a place that offered both.
“I never understood how kitchen designers could design a space, as important as the kitchen,
and not take into account the rest of the house”. When forming SKD Studios she knew she
wanted to do things differently. “I wanted a studio that home owners could come to and we could
help them create an inviting, livable, amazing space from start to finish.”
Anissa and her team understand the importance of educating their clients
on the products available. “We help them choose the best options for their space as well as cost
effective alternatives to help enhance the way they use their space. We like to think of our studio
as a ‘one stop shop’.” The designers are available to help you not only design a plan but put
together elements such as flooring options, cabinetry selections, tiles, countertops, fabrics, paint
colors, wall coverings and window treatments to help pull off the overall theme.
“We have a very talented eclectic team at SKD STUDIOS. We work together in a collaborative
method. Every project is reviewed by the entire team and usually we all have our hand in the final

When it comes to decorating and your house decor, do you find yourself buying stuff, dragging it home and then end up returning it because it doesn't look quite right? You wonder, is it the right look, is it the right color, does it go with what I already have, do I even like it? Honestly, I did that for months getting more and more frustrated and getting nowhere. "I need help", I confessed to my husband.
He was immediately onboard and handed me an article out of the newspaper with a decorating article written by Anissa from SKD Studios. When I called, I knew right away it was going to be a good fit for me. I immediately liked her energy, enthusiasm and laughter. She designed me an overall plan and was very considerate of my budget. She knew I liked to be involved and encouraged me to add my creative touches.
I enjoyed working with her so much I ended up updating my entire beach house including a new kitchen and bathrooms. She really helped me discover what I truly love in my home and made great recommendations. I am amazed what we have been able to accomplish and I look around and just can't believe how in love I am with every detail. Thanks Anissa and Don too!
