In the mid 1980's Bill Thompson and his Dad were building a new home in the Myrtle Beach area and wanted to include a Stone Fireplace. Originally, they sold stone for Fireplaces and for Landscaping and later extended to include Granite & Marble for Kitchens & Baths and many other Stone Products.

This company is A+! I received excellent quality service. I highly recommend this company. I had a very different job and needed it done quickly and they made it happen. Regarding reply from owner: why not tell me this from the beginning, which was 2 months ago! And by the way you know very well who this is, as I told you I would post a review if the issue was not addressed last week. You also don't reply or take calls. You can call me to address the issue assuming you actually mean what you say below, and then I will update this review accordingly.
These guys did a countertop install from a Home Depot order and were supposed to warranty their product for 1 year. After two months, many calls and several emails, which were blown-off (think it's William / manager or owner) he now claim Home Depot needs to handle repairs. I've got calls into HD, but I already know what they are going to say. Likely it's the installers who need to take care of this.
What a joke! They had to come back on the original install to fix issues as well, it's likely they compromised the integrity of the countertop while delivering it. The sales reps at Thompson Stone have been good, but who-ever is managing this company only appears to be worried about sales, and could care less about customers and quality.

Do not let these guys into your house as others have stated, you will be sorry! My wife ordered countertops from HomeDepot, these guys did the install, and during installation the installer split one of the cabinets by sliding the countertops around versus lifting and placing. After the countertops were in place, there was a large gap between the wall and countertops measuring almost.5 inches.
The template we signed off on stated the countertop depth should be 25.75", the countertop measured less than 25.5" on one side and as low as 25.20" on the other(clearly cut crooked). The countertop overhang is.25" longer in the front and missing.25" in the rear, very sloppy cut- I could have cut the stone better with a hammer and chisel. They also installed a counter bar top that was.25 out of level (they did come back and fix it, but during the fix they cracked a glass tile) So now we have a huge gap between the wall and the backsplash(over.25") because the countertops are cut wrong and instead of trying to fix the problem, they offered to compensate us for the backsplash or place more mud behind the backsplash to hide the improper cut of the countertops.
See the attached picture according to Thompson, that gap is acceptable and normal, the gap gets twice as large on the other side. If you want crooked countertops then Thompson is the place to go.

This company did our granite counter tops in our kitchen and they look amazing. They had a great selection to choose from.we went with blues in midnight. Staff was great and the installers did a great job. We did lots of work to our home in the past 2 years and there are only 2 companies we would have back again and these folks are one of them.

Ordered countertops from Lowes in December. After "broken saw" delayed my install, they came out and stone was cut wrong. They quickly (3 days) came back out with a newly cut stone. This time, the 2 slabs didn't match (cream vs white). They offered to recut my job and come back out later that day. I live 2 hours away, so this was my 2nd trip up for this install.
I was fine with waiting a few hours for them to come back. At 5:00 that afternoon, manager calls and acted like he didn't know they were supposed to come back today. I had to take another day off work for them to come back the following day. This time the stone was cut right and both pieces matched, but the installer cut the faucet whole in the wrong place.
I wasn't willing to deal with their incompetence any longer, so I just let him finish the install with an off-center faucet. I called Lowes and got a full refund. NEVER let these folks in your house.

I bought many rocks a time back from Thompson's and it was a good place to go. Now Thompson has an employee, few feet away, watch(stare) while you pick through the river rocks(treated like a thief). I was very uncomfortable at Thompson's today and it was never like that before in numerous past experiences but I think management has changed. My neighor likes my boulder and she wants me to find her one and now I will tell her not to go to Thompsons. I will never go to Thompson's again.
