I prefer West Haven over other lumberyards in the area mostly for their range. They have everything, from modestly priced materials to premium lumber, which is perfect for contractors like me that work with a wide array of clients, each with their own financial preferences and limitations. The only flaw in the West Haven business model is their off-site customer service.
You may spend hours just to find the right person to talk to. If they can get people with the same level of expertise as their on-site sales team handling the phones, they will definitely get more business than they do now.

I contacted west haven lumber as a first time buyer looking for lumber for a beam that I was installing at my new home. Sebastian helped me get the required beam calculation done promptly. I was pleasantly surprised at how helpful they were. I was able to use the calculation in order to get the building permit for my house also. I had called other lumber yards and they didn't make any effort to help me.

I came here to get materials for my deck. The sales staff on site was extremely helpful in helping me choose a color that matched my home and find a price for my budget. I worked primarily with sebastian but others were more than willing to answer my questions while sebastian went out of his way to find my sample colors. i will come here for all my future projects

I needed some 5/4x6x8 and 5/4x4x8's for making barn door framing and trim. Sales Devin Lingan was friendly and especially Mr Alami out at the lumber yard was very knowledgeable and helpful in getting the lumber stock I needed. On top of that prices and quality were better than the big stores. Wish more stores were like West Haven Lumber.

Staff have always been helpful & patient. They have custom cut a replacement door frame to match the deteriorating one being replaced. I have been out in the "barns" with staff, hand selecting each piece of siding. And they don't sell warped wood! Lowe's & Home Depot cannot compare. As a homeowner, this is my go to place for good wood.
